In Portland Oregon homes built in the early 1900's and are often available for sale in many city and country areas. Choose a restored classic or refinish a fixer to your own style.
Questions to ask before buying a classic:
Have the electrical and plumbing systems been updated? Are they safe?
What conversions or remodeling have been done?
Are there are any underground storage tanks and have they been passed by DEQ?
How much will renovations cost?
Is it possible build an addition? What is the procedure?
How can you find the history of the home?
What is the neighborhood history and are there any planned future changes?
Will the home be insurable?
Are there systems which need repair rather than replaced (by law)?
Are there any environmentally hazardous materials in the home?
What is the condition of the sewer line or system?
