Homes are getting bigger; 2600sft average, while lots are being reduced in size. New Construction starts near $350,000 on a lot between 3000-4000sft. Larger lots are available with starting prices around $450,000.

Questions to ask when buying new construction:

How long has the builder been doing business? 

Can you view past homes they built?

What about checking the complaint report record?  

Does the builder have a rule about on site visits during construction? 

Can you make modifications or changes to the plans? 

Where do you go to choose the trimwork and colors that the builder uses? 

How much should you be charged for requested upgrades? 

What amount of earnest money should be used and how will it be released to the builder?

 
How might the nearby area affect the resale value of a new home?
